Rajshree Group supplies high-efficiency Debarking Systems using drum debarkers and ring debarkers tailored to the log species, diameter, and production requirement.
In 2021 we supplied and commissioned a complete 100 TPD kraft pulp mill in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh — wood yard, digester, brown-stock washing, bleaching and pulp dryer. Since 2003, Rajshree Group has delivered 22+ pulp and paper projects across three continents — India, Africa and the Middle East — totalling over 2,000 TPD of installed capacity.

The Science of Efficient Debarking and Its Impact on Pulp Quality
Bark contains tannins, resins, and non-cellulosic compounds that contaminate pulp, consume excess cooking chemicals, and increase effluent colour. Even 1% residual bark in the chip furnish can increase kappa number by 2–3 units and reduce pulp brightness by 1–2% ISO. Efficient debarking is therefore not a wood yard housekeeping step — it is a direct determinant of your pulp quality and downstream bleaching costs.
Rajshree Group supplies drum debarkers and ring debarkers matched to the log species, diameter range, and throughput of your wood yard. Drum debarkers use log-on-log abrasion inside a rotating drum — ideal for mixed log diameters and species. Ring debarkers use rotating knives that travel the full log length — preferred for uniform plantation logs where maximum wood recovery is a priority (drum debarking can cause greater fibre loss on small-diameter species).
Bark removed in the debarking step is not wasted. Rajshree designs bark conveyors and bark boiler feed systems that divert the bark fraction to a dedicated bark boiler, generating process steam for mill operations. This energy recovery from bark typically offsets 15–25% of total mill steam demand — a meaningful contribution to mill energy efficiency.
Rajshree's debarking systems are designed to achieve bark removal efficiency of 96–99% for plantation eucalyptus and bamboo species under normal operating conditions. For harder tropical hardwoods or logs with embedded stones (common in African sourcing), we design with pre-washing and stone trap systems upstream of the debarker.
